This weekend I'll be heading to San Jose for the eLearning Guild's DevLearn 2008 conference. Last year I managed to miss my plane and had to fly in and out in a day (see Senior Moments). This year I hope to do a lot better and see a bit of San Francisco before attending the Adobe Learning Summit (on a press pass - it pays to be a blogger), then a workshop on scenario-based learning with Ruth Clark, before attending the conference itself.
On Wednesday 12th at 10.45 I'll be presenting a concurrent session called Using the Content Pyramid to Maximize Your Learning Strategy. Basically, I'll be describing how top-end, top-down e-learning can be successfully combined with a strategy that includes rapid development by SMEs and bottom-up content generated by users.
On Thursday 13th at 10.45, I'll be participating in The Great ILS Challenge, hosted by Mark Oehlert. I'll be one of a handful of designers wrestling with a thorny design problem set by Mark which we have to solve using some form of immersive learning simulation. This will be a very participative session and should be great fun.
I'll be heading off on Thursday PM. Don't hesitate to say hello if you bump into me at the event.
